The Rubber Laboratory provides technical support to the Company’s customers for the dry rubber and latex chemicals and minerals produced and distributed by R.T. Vanderbilt Company. These include a complete line of accelerators, crosslinking agents, antidegradants, process aids, fillers, and elastomers.

The Rubber Laboratory works directly with customers by performing experiments and making recommendations leading to product improvements. It is fully equipped with internal- and open-mill mixers, ball mills, attritors, homogenizers, molding instruments, rheometers, viscometers, tensile testers, dynamic flexing machines, ozone chambers, durometers, and other auxiliary instruments.

The Rubber Laboratory develops new application data on existing products and makes this available to the rubber industry through Technical Data Sheets. In addition, the laboratory evaluates new rubber chemicals synthesized by the company’s Organic Research Laboratory, and performs various quality control tests on manufactured rubber chemicals.
