Plastics Laboratory

The Plastics Applications Lab has served the plastics industry for more than 60 years. In that time, we have supported the polyvinyl chloride market with PVC heat stabilizers and, along the way, branched out into the polyethylene and polypropylene markets with antioxidants and mineral deactivators. In the past 15 years, we have expanded into the flexible polyurethane foam market with our scorch inhibitor product line.

As an applications laboratory, we strive, as much as possible, to duplicate our customers’ manufacturing processes and test methods. Our laboratory commits the following equipment to this purpose:

  • P-K Blenders
  • Henschel Blender
  • Hobart Mixers
  • Brabender Plasti-Corder
  • Brabender Twin Screw Extruder
  • Two Roll Mills
  • Hydraulic Presses
  • Weather-O-meter
For the development of our scorch inhibitor product line, the Plastics Lab is equipped to make "cake-box foams" which are tested via the microwave method for evidence of scorch.

The Plastics Applications Lab works closely with our customers, on a confidential basis, to help solve compounding and stabilization problems.
